Following a set of recent inspections, we are delighted to announce that all of our Children’s homes received a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted this year. Thanks to the hard work of all our staff, idem living will enter 2024 as a ‘Good’ provider across all of our Children’s and Supported Living services.
The inspections kicked off in April with Chapters, where the report celebrated how “the atmosphere is akin to that of a family home”. Ofsted’s inspectors highlighted our respect for children’s independence and autonomy, praising how “staff listen carefully to the child’s views, which are central to the running of the home”.
In May, Cedars maintained their ‘Good’ rating, with the report crediting our staff for their personal approach, claiming “their focus on building lasting and trusting relationships is fantastic”.
Similarly, Highview also maintained their ‘Good’ rating in August. The inspectors repeatedly referenced the home’s successful educational support, reporting that “children successfully reintegrate into school, with bespoke education packages provided for them”. They also noted how “staff work closely with education providers” to help children “develop new practical skills as well as to progress educationally”.
Our extra-curricular support was also praised when Logwood achieved their ‘Good’ rating in October, with the report saying “children enjoy different activities and experiences. Providing such opportunities is a real strength of the home.”
Finally, this month Melwood received their 4th consecutive ‘Good’ Ofsted rating! Our staff were again praised for listening to the children, who are “involved in decisions about their care and planning”. The home was also credited for accommodating families, as “staff maintain regular communication with parents and work hard to support children to build positive relationships with family members”.
We could not be prouder of these results! They are a testament to the dedication of our staff, but also a representation of the phenomenal progress that all our children have made this year.
