It’s been award season again, and idem living came out stronger than ever.
In this year’s National Children and Young People Awards 2024, on the 24th October, we were fortunate enough to have five finalists!
First up, our exceptional team at Highview were shortlisted for the Children’s Home Team Award (South), with the category looking for a team “going the extra mile” with “an excellent communication process” that recognises each member’s skills, and that demonstrates “a commitment to child centred care.”
Louise Lawrence, our Head of People, Performance & Culture, was a finalist for the Wellbeing Award, which “recognises an individual who goes above and beyond to promote wellbeing for children and young people” and is “looking for evidence of providing options for alternative futures for vulnerable parents and children.”
idem living was a finalist in the Employer Award (North), which seeks “to acknowledge and celebrate an exceptional employer who is committed to their employees delivering an excellent service to children, young people and families.”
Alex Dolman was a finalist in the Support Worker Award (South), which recognises the provision of high-quality care through a commitment to person centred approaches, advocacy, dedication, and teamwork. Alex was Highly Commended by the judges, noting “he is dedicated to empowering individuals through encouragement and tailored support, celebrating each achievement along the way. His commitment to fostering growth inspires those around him to reach their full potential.”
Finally, Rob Gillespie, our Managing Director, won the Senior Manager Award, which celebrates “a manager who has demonstrated a high level of expertise, exceptional skills in leadership and management, great support for colleagues, and a positive commitment to person centred care.” The judges noted that “Rob deserves the Senior Manager Award for his unwavering commitment to the industry and his genuine love for children”, adding that his “passion and dedication truly make a difference in their lives.”
In response to his award, Rob said “to say I was shocked is an understatement. Although it’s my name on the award, I cannot do my role without the team around me. Trust me, I have incredible colleagues at every level.”
Then on the 9th November, Rob was also a finalist for the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care (North-West) in the Great British Care Awards 2024. Finally, on the 28th November we had two finalists for Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care 2024. Natalie Pink was a finalist for the Social Care Superwoman Award (Children & Young People), looking to recognise “outstanding results in the face of adversity” and for “going above and beyond to promote positive outcomes.” Louise Lawrence was also a finalist for the HR & Recruitment Award, which “recognises outstanding women” that have delivered innovative “recruitment and retention strategies that have had a positive impact for women at work.”
A massive congratulations to all our finalists and winners, and thanks to everyone at idem living who work so hard to ensure we provide the best quality of care. We operate as a team, and our achievements this year reflect the dedication of everyone that works here.
