Newlands Hey School opened in March 2015. It is Ofsted registered and provides specialist education for up to 10 young people who have autism and complex needs.
All young people attending our school follow personalised and individual learning programmes and are supported on a minimum of a 1:1 staff ratio in order to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that acknowledges the pupil’s individual needs. We can also provide individual classrooms for those pupils who require them. We identify and offer the pupil’s preferred method of communication ensuring that effective skills are developed and used in all areas of activity including ordinary life experiences within the community, accessing the local networks.
The school is co-educational and is staffed with a highly qualified and experienced team. We work hard to provide a calm, supportive and warm caring environment in which our young people can flourish, begin to achieve and be the best that they can in all areas of their development. We strive to promote a positive, supportive and safe environment where our pupils can make progress and develop a sense of being valued.
We aim to provide our pupils with an education that will meet their individual intellectual, interpersonal and social needs, fostering Independence and preparation for a full and active life.
